I had the very, very good fortune to get hooked up with just insanely good tickets to see Bruce Springsteen this past Thursday, courtesy of awesome roommate. I’d seen him before, but not since college. So, really, quite a long time.

In classic fashion, he and his band walked on stage on time (no opening band), played their asses off for two and a half hours, and then walked off. The last time I played a two and a half hour show straight through I thought I was going to die by the end. I was 20 at the time. Bruce Springsteen is currently 59 years old, and most of his bandmates are around that age as well. It didn’t even phase them.

It’s nice to know that with the amount of truly awful music being produced in many currently popular genres, there are still actual rock stars out there. People who just write good songs and then play the hell out them for their fans.

Anybody who wonders why they call him “The Boss” has clearly never been to one of his live shows.
